Hanmer Springs Trip

created my first ever blog few days ago... no reason... juz dun feel like studying, doing my assignment... but but but... friendster blog sucks... (xian u'r right) decided to create another here, posting the same blog...

juz came back from a 2 days trip to hanmer springs (90 mins drive from christchurch CBD) a week ago... it was awesome though we didn't do much things there... it was also the first time i organised a trip (maybe that's y we didn't do much things there :p)... we stayed at a holiday apartment bout 2.5km (they told me) away from the pools in a small town because all the holiday houses cannot be rent to groups of under 20 year olds (i wonder who set this rule and who caused them to set these rule, so unfair)... most holiday houses are nearer to the town and cheaper... nah... who can i blame...

we went to the pools the first day and stayed there for bout 4 hours until the guys were so bored and left... hehe... the water was so natural that my silver necklace turned black (i forgot i was still wearing it)... it was so cold that day and we had bbq at night (actually we brought instant noodles but the guys wanna have bbq)...

we went to the maze and mini golf place the second day but the old man selling the tickets made things difficult for us that we were upset and left to play mini golf at another place... this is what happened...

the price shown on the board for both the maze and mini golf:
adult $14
family $35 for 2 adults and up to 2 children

me: hi, is there any group prices for adults?
the old man: yes, for how many people? (he started counting)
me: nine of us.
the old man: no......
me: so what's the minimum number of adults to have the group price and how much is it?
the old man: 10, $10 per person.
(this means that we have to pay $100 for 10 ppl and $126 for 9 ppl)
me: can nine of us pay for 10 ppl? (i'm so chinese ho? have to save my parents' money :) )
the old man: ermm... (after a few seconds) no.
me: alright thanks, we'll come back later.

then i went to discuss with my friends... we decided to wait for other ppl and buy group tickets... bout 5 mins later an old couple walked towards us, i asked them if they wanna buy the ticket with us, we can even pay for 1 ticket for them, that means they only have to pay $10 for both of them... (the old man selling ticket was somewhere behind the counter a small distance away from us and we couldn't see him from the place we stood)... the couple said yes we could buy together but they're waiting for some other ppl... when the other 4 ppl came we started discussing bout the tickets... one of them didn't wanna play the maze cuz she played that before, they only wanna play mini golf so i told them if they wanna buy the ticket with us they only have to buy 5 tickets for mini golf and we would give them 1 ticket for both games... (that means 9 of us pay $11.11 each, still cheaper than $14 right?) juz a second before they agree the old man selling the ticket appeared behind the counter and said to us quite loudly (i mentioned, the counter was a small distance away from us) "no u can't do that" (i wondered who allowed him to join our conversation, so rude) then we all looked at him, he asked the group of people "where are you from?" they said "australia" then he said no again and ask them, pointing at us "are they from australia as well?" (why didn't he ask us but them?) the old couple said no... i was so surprised that the old man actually said NO again juz because we're not from the same country, he didn't even asked where we are from!!!! what the... ... (sorry i'm rude)!!!!!!! who said australian and non-australian cannot buy tickets together in NEW ZEALAND!!!! then he asked the group of ppl whether they're family and four of them are so he said he could give them GROUP PRICE FOR FAMILY!!!! all of them are older than any one of us!!!! how could they get prices for 2 adults and 2 children????? was he purposely made things difficult for us??? yes he was!!!!!!!! if we weren't there i'm sure he wouldn't give them family price... then four of them walked towards the counter and 2 of them still sitting there.... my friends were so upset and left... it's not that we din wanna pay 4 dollars more... since we were travelling even if there were no group prices we would still pay the $14 but why did we still have to go in since he didn't want us to go in? and my friend told me there is a much better maze in christchurch and we could go there one day... :)
we walked all the way there so happily and were so upset when we left... then we went to another mini golf place and only played mini golf but we still had fun... hahaha...

'A-MAZE-N-GOLF' -- i won't go to this place anymore...

at the holiday apartment

not-high-enough bungee jumping... yet still a beautiful place...

all of us in autumn (very obvious ho?)

mini golf

can see autumn snow?

after mini golf we had a "picnic"(trying to finish the food we brought) and played card games under a tree and then came back to christchurch...
since we brought at least 6 cameras there i'll upload more photos when i've got them from my friends...

p/s: they said the best season to go to hanmer springs is winter cuz it is most beautiful in the winter... but it would be freezing cold when u leave the pools... haha...

planning for the next trip for next holiday... queenstown or dunedin? (kidding, it's too early to plan now...)
